A ‘Star Burst’ with Flowers: An Exploration of Strange Forms and Erratic Shapes
I was recently commissioned to make an arrangement for a friend of mine who wanted something edgy and unique for a birthday picnic. She was interested in ‘strange forms’ and wanted me to include lots of erratic shapes, contrasting textures and a mix of a moody and bright colour scheme. I had the best time working for her to bring her vision to life. People like her and jobs like this really make me appreciate how lucky I am to be in this line of work.
I prioritised hanging Amaranthus, Orchids, and Anthuriums as those were her favourites. I really wanted to add an element of mysticism to it so ensured I followed a rough crescent moon shape. I used Ranunculus, Mini Gerberas, Singapore Orchids and Queen Annes Lace for the ‘body’ and some Tortured Willow for its bursting ‘arms’.
